Other than the dolls house!

I thought maybe a change of subject ie no dolls house talk was in order..but before I continue I must say its coming along very nicely and i'm very proud :)

Anyway, what to tell you? Well we went to the candidates farewell last weekend, and it was very good to see the support which they all had as they go on this very scary journey! The theme was "It's not just our story, its God's story" (like the M&S adverts!) and it was stressed upon how we are all linked together through our stories, and really its an amazing thing when you think about it! I'm lucky (and I'm sure Ste would say the same) to have some really good friends who I know i can count on for anything, who take an interest in my life, who genuinely care for me, and it always amazes me how God brings these people into my life! A lot of those people who I would consider to be my 'best' friends, are not close by and are not directly involved in my life, but they always appear just when I need them! reminds me of the song, "Just where he needs me, my lord has placed me, just where he needs me, there would i be", the words are so true!

Anyway thats what came into my head so thats what i wrote, and I'll leave it at that for now :)

Love to all my bestest buddies! (and Stephen my bestest buddy of all..love you!)

The bathroom is nearly complete.....

Well I'm sorry we're talking about the dolls house again but its so exciting and we're actually getting somewhere!
But today we actually painted a room, the picture below shows the bathroom with painted walls and white paneling and so far, an unpainted skirting board.

We welcome any questions and suggestions, one thing not finished it the white paneling and the dado rail we need to put on top of it to finish it off but......

1. Should we varnish or paint white the skirting board?

2. Should we paint the back roof green (although we may anyway)?

3. And what colour towels should we make for the towel rail and what colour bath mat?

Hope you like it!

P.s. If you read this, please comment, lets us know we are loved!

Summer - Part 2!

As you can see we have been busy bees this summer - I don't think I've ever really done so much with my summers before! And Stephen makes Birthdays so much more exciting (although sometimes I feel he gets a little overexcited - especially when it's not even his birthday!!)

So yeah we went to the dolls house shop in Ripley, and saw the Peak district, which took a long time, and I don't want to see any bendy, twisty, curvy, non-motorway roads for at least a year now! (I'm not a great passenger) But it was worth it! We now have enough to more or less complete two rooms, and just to give you an idea, I took these pics..

The Kitchen...

The yellow tile floor is what we're using, and hoping to have enough to put some on the walls, we don't know what colour to do the kitchen currently (paint or wallpaper) suggestions welcome? There will either be some more worktops or perhaps a washing machine..although they are rather expensive, and I'm hoping to get a microwave if i can find a good price! We've got skirting boards and cornice to finish off and then its just a case of adding any finishing touches although I'm quite pleased with what we've got!

Next is the Bathroom..
Although not as much is needed in the bathroom, it still lacks the finishing touches, the towel on the rail is a tissue at the moment but I have seen some nice sets on ebay! I also think a toilet roll holder would be a good investment! Depending on how much we have, we plan to put up white panels on the walls maybe just on the bottom half and get a daedo rail (I have no idea how you spell that?!) Again colour has not been decided if we do only have panels half way up but probably a bluey colour of some sort? Watch this space!
We haven't finished the house completely on the outside as we still have the basement to do, but I want to complete at least one of these rooms before I do that, so when thats done I'll post you those pics (we have exciting trees for the outside now!) It's full steam ahead now before going back to uni!
I can't remember what the other thing that I was gonna blog on so I'll leave it at that for now! Will be back soon!

And now the summers gone....

Well people, I have apologies....

I am very very sorry for not blogging for ages!

I promise I will try better in the future!:-)

Anyway, where to start!

Many people say that this summers weather has been one of the worst!
I think otherwise, I take no enjoyment whatsoever from being in ridiculous temperatures being sweaty, thirsty and incredible uncomfortable in certain areas so for me, colder summers are the way forward (its not global warming by the way, there have been summers like this before, ask old people!)

But anyway, this summer I got a new car :-)

Before I introduce the new 'un let us say something about Frank.

Frank was a beautiful, mature car,
Who's colour could not be described.
He was sometimes slow,
But he could really go far.
Franky boy, I'll miss you!

Anyway.....

Meet......

SALLY!!!

For those amongst you who are thinking "thats the same as the old one!" Your very wrong!
For starters its 3 years younger, it has alloys, it has a very sexy spoiler on the back, it has a 1.6 engine instead of 1.4 and it has air con (although currently not working). So there you are!

Also this summer I was on staff at the north west divisions JS Camp for the third time!
Although there were less kids this year, it was still just as good as ever! The kids had fun and it was great to have fun and have a laugh with the other staff. (I can't post any pictures... child protection and all that malarkey!)

There was also our summer school! Which I was a student at! This was such an amazing week, I know people will be reading this who thought it could've been a flop as there were only 14 paying students! Well you are wrong! In a way this made it better, everyone there was just awesome and I had such an amazing week doing Godly things and having fun, and doing some awesome singing in the workshops! If you want to see what went on I do believe the DVD will be available to anyone who wants on at a cost of £10 (which all goes to the SA's Human Trafficking) in a couple of months time! During that week also, there was a fundraising event in the form of a movie night! For this we all dressed up posh and had professional photos taken which we could buy for a fiver, and all of it going to the same cause. Here is one of me and Louisa....

Last Sunday (2nd) it was Louisa's 20th birthday! Oh my, aren't we getting old!
I bought her a lovely necklace and I also took her to the Dolls House Emporium Shop to buy her some bits and bobs for her birthday. If you want a hobby don't get a dolls house, its far too expensive! We shall do another blog about the dolls house soon!
But Sunday we went with Louisa's family to the Tweedmill in St Asaph for a lovely roast dinner, then the next day we came back to my house, in preparation to go to the dolls house shop which is near derby, and we went for a meal at Evenwood Farm, the new carvery about 500 yards from my house! (very handy!) So this week we've not been very healthy really!

Also after going to the dolls house shop, we thought we'd make a day of it, and went to the delightful village of Castleton in the peak district. The main attraction being the Speedwell Cavern which is under a hill and is basically a tunnel which you have to go down in a boat and is really quite exciting and potentially very claustrophobic. But for more information on this attraction go to http://www.speedwellcavern.co.uk/

For anyone thats interested, our house is having its kitchen refitted this week, Mums finally decided to do it, shes just not decided on everything like tiles and stuff but there you go, its fun eating out of the fridge which is currently in the dining room! Heres a picture of what it looked like last night....

So there you are, I think thats my whole summer done!
Hope to see you all or speak to you all very soon!
